Sergeant Tanya Smith

Sergeant Tanya Smith joined the Holly Springs Police Department in December of 2008 as Executive Assistant to Chief Ball and as the Public Information Officer.

Sgt. Smith continues to serve in those roles. In addition to fulfilling those duties, she also maintains the agency’s crime information computer, and is the department’s Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC).

 
Sgt. Smith has over 16 years of law enforcement experience, spanning several Georgia agencies. During that period of time, she has been a supervisor in the Uniform Patrol Division, a detective in major crimes – specializing in crimes against children, and has served as an internal affairs investigator.

 
Sgt. Smith is a graduate of the Professional Management Program at Columbus State University. She has also completed extensive training in the area of forensic interviews with abused children with the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and Finding Words Georgia.
